2010 will see great things in Aldershot

The long term plan is to transform the Aldershot Plain Road corridor into a modern, pedestrian friendly main street.  Each new building will provide Aldershot with an opportunity to improve the architecture, streetscaping and landscaping.  Sidewalks are gradually being widened on Plains Road, benches installed and signage improved.  Three new projects should combine to slowly improve traffic in the vicinity of the Plains Road corridor. The new Waterdown Road/403 interchange will remove heavy trucks and through traffic from Plains.  Construction of the new QEW ramp near Ikea, later this year, will remove congestion in that area and the anticipated start of construction of the King Road underpass, by the end of the year will complete the improved traffic pattern.

Aldershot, and its main street have every reason to be optimistic about the future and so are we! For more information from City Councillor Rick Craven’s office please follow this link http://cms.burlington.ca/Page111.aspx
